In the Missing Link Artmarket we’re proud to present the collective works for sale by some fantastic local emerging and professional artists. Take some time out and see who we’re featuring!
Andrea Wood - Drawing
Andrea Wood completed her BA in Visual Arts at Edith Cowan University in 2008. She created an installation of her works on paper for the 2008 graduate exhibition, “Bellwether” from which a set of 6 of her drawings in silverpoint entitled “Lost Boys” were purchased for the Edith Cowan University Art Collection. Andrea was also the recipient of the 2008 Artsource Industry Award, awarded for professionalism in her practice and approach to art. She was an organiser and contributor to the recent student fundraising exhibition “A4” at Spectrum gallery and plans to complete an honours year at ECU in 2009.
Andreas Koepke - Photography
I am a Perth-based amateur photographer and I have been passionate about photography since a young age. I was born in Germany and have lived here in Perth since I was 2 years old.
I got into photography using my father’s Nikon 35mm film SLR cameras. Later I progressed to digital point & shoot cameras and then made the big decision to purchase a Canon 40D digital SLR.
I enjoy exploring the many different genres of photography, with my portfolio containing a mixture of flora, fauna, macro, landscape and some more rustic-style photos.
The two native flower photos on display were taken at our lovely Kings Park during their spring Wildflower Festival. The sepia photo of the rusting farm equipment was taken near York at an old ghost town.

Alyce Bunton - Painting
I am a visual artist that uses images of everyday life, things and people close to me as a vehicle for exploring the transformative qualities and the unlimited potential of paint. I’m interested in the practice of painting as a whole, the dialogue between works and my progression and experimentation with different genres. Studying and completing the Visual Arts course at ECU has assisted me in the development of my area of practice. I am currently looking forward to doing further research into the arts and education in the future.
Belinda Gittos – Sculpture
Belinda Gittos’ art draws upon her observations of consumerism in modern western society. Being from a remote rural community, the hustle and bustle of urban lifestyle intrigued her. A background in graphic design and retail has encouraged Belinda to question why we buy what we buy, and live how we live. She comments upon a human desire to consume for a sense of comfort, acceptance and identity, a desire that is often never fulfilled due to the continuous advancement in technology and media’s promotion of what’s fashionable.
Belinda plans to continue with her art practice as well as becoming a secondary arts and media teacher. Through art education she plans to help students find their own creative voice and independently interpret their world.
Jacqueline Jane - Photography and Fashion
Jacqueline Jane currently works as a freelance photographer, promotional images for local bands, live music, head shots, social photos, weddings, and more artistic work for herself, while completing her Photomedia degree at Edith Cowan University. She had her work included in the finalists for the 2008 IRIS Award for Portraiture.
Jacqueline enjoys sewing and collecting vintage clothing and accessories, with her label Bona to Vada now stocked at Libertine, Mt. Lawley.
Martin Wills - Painting

What comes to mind upon hearing the name Martin Wills? Some say morning dew drops, or a vague lemon fragrance. Others think of old self defense classes or their panic room. Of course, what most associate with Martin Wills is a freelance illustrator, designer and writer from Mount Lawley who channels the worst of his inherited dysfunctions into his art. Aside from writing short autobiographical pieces in the third person, Martin spent much of 2008 painting for his first solo exhibition Territory Twelve which opened, and later closed, at Gingers Garage in November.
Peter Campagna – Painting
Perth born of European heritage, artist Peter Campagna (peterfrancis artworks) works with painted surfaces freely and employs a wide range of expressive techniques.
His work combines found and decorative elements with individual gesture to produce seductive fusions of paint, image making and colour.
He explores the problematic relationship between personal and cultural feelings and endeavours to embrace you with colour and passion whatever you are.
Renae Coles - Painting, Textiles
Renae Coles is a visual artist with a love of collecting quirkiness, making making and dancing like a hyperactive kid. This year has been filled with painting, installation and sound art. Renae has recently finished her degree at ECU and is looking forward to big things in 2009. Keep your binoculars handy for glimpses of her work; anything from pretty paintings to strange performances. She is also one of the artists from The Missing Link Festival Project Spacelink!
Art is the way, even the nasty stuff shows glimpses of hope, of peace, of love.
Royce Alido – Collage

Samantha Davies – Photography
Who am I? I suppose you should know.
Its probably important for some reason or another.
Well I’m 23 years old, female.
Fairly tall and probably a little under weight.
Family moved around a lot when I was a kid and we traveled a lot.
Lived in England for a time and the south of France as well.
Arrived in Australia.
I’ve been a visual artist for the last couple of years and have an absolute love of photography.
My work is nearly entirely on film; I love it as a medium.
Though to be frank it’s probably just a little bit of nostalgia on my part.
I self identify as queer and as a label it fits me extremely well.
Born a little different from most, I have whats known as Aspergers Syndrome a kind of high functioning autism.
Most of my inspiration comes from the way I view the world.
Aspergers gives me a unique way or seeing things I guess, and I tend to get quiet obsessed with little details.
On top on that I have to analyze everything I see and hear.
This makes me a little strange, and quiet socially awkward.
But you can talk to me I’m not scary!
Wess Von Hooton – Photography
Hey zeus immolates as witches soar through shards of broken clouds revolving semenal fists eviscerates the fertile plains spores rocket through the drought dust clinging to the nouveau venus like pollen desperate to become honey the music of colours trickle down through hibernation and hiroshima the atoms that bind into a tidal wave of fluid subversion and syncopatic creation primordial ooze dances like blindness upon newfoundland cutting a rug and balloon strings of all those shackled by the light of gravity together they procreate new evolution and freedom is not dreamt but is We are the new Life.
Timothy “Troll” Sheehan (aka Timothy Rollin).
Timothy Sheehan’s artistic career began in 2002 when he was selected for the Fremantle Film and TV Institutes (F.T.I) Animation Mentor program on the merit of his self taught artistic ability. The program was designed to train the students in animation over a year while they worked on a Pilot TV show. Two weeks before the completion and screening of the project a corrupt Mentor stole all the original artwork on his pilot and deleted all back ups before leaving for America.
Because of this experience and several other situations where he was taken advantage of, Timothy became disillusioned to Perth’s Commercial art world and pursued his own interests in art. This led him to street art, under the alias Troll boy, because of the fact he first began doing graffiti art under a city bridge and his folklore inspired characters.
After only 3 years of dedicated work in the scene he became one of Perth’s most prolific street artists doing innovative work in freehand aerosol painting, stenciling, stickering and wheatpasting.
His work became known for its original design and cheeky social commentary. As well as his street work Timothy also worked on many community art projects, murals and youth festivals. In 2007 he completed his Advanced Diploma in Art and Design with his controversial installation about graffiti art and property, which featured paintings on city signage mounted on wire fencing.
On Valentines day 2008 Timothy’s studio space was raided as part of the City of Perth’s anti graffiti campaign and several of his artworks were confiscated. As a result of this Timothy moved his focus away from illegal art to gallery and community based art. Since, he has been involved in the Windows on William show, Condor Tower project, Illustrated for MD limited edition #2 and taught numerous street-art workshops for at-risk youths.
